Abdul Marceli - Algerian Track and Field Coach - Coach to Coach

Hailing from Algeria, Coach Morceli has guided three Olympic champions in middle and long distance races. The most popular was former RCC, National Junior College, Olympic record and World record holder Nourreddine Morceli. Coach Morceli worked with his brother and together they produced seven world records and four world champion titles.

As well as coaching his brother to greatness, Coach Morceli has also worked with many world-class athletes, including 2000 Sydney Olympics 1,500-meter champion Nouria Merah, and Belout Aissa and Hacini Adem, Mediterranean Champions at 5,000 meters and 800 meters, respectively. He has coached two All-Americas and seven All-State athletes while at RCC. Morceli also coached the 2008 800-meter state champion, Stephen May.
