Episode 2: Pre-Run Warm-Up Routine and Stretches - Meb Minutes

In this video, Meb provides the first half of his pre-run warm-up routine, stretches. This routine is part of “the small things” that Meb does to prevent injury. Meb stretches up to four times per day in order stay flexible, pliable and injury-free while preparing for his next workout session. Meb’s stretching routine has been adopted from the Wharton Performance Active Isolated Flexibility Routine.
Routine Overview:
- 20min easy jog
- Active Isolated Flexibility (5-10 repetitions, add rope assistance at the extent of range of motion, hole for a brief second, release to neutral & repeat)
- Straight-Leg Hamstring
- Medial Hamstring
- Lateral Hamstring
- Glute & Hip
- Quadriceps
- Trunk Extensors
- Gastroc /Soleus (Calf)
