Growing as a Sprints Coach—Common Mistakes Along the Way and Their Value examines the issue of what sprint coaches should do to evolve into being a better coach. The DVD points out that the two basic sources of information in this area is for coaches to consider what has worked well for them in the past (as an athlete and/or as a coach in earlier stages of their careers) and to what served other coaches well. Using acceleration as an example, the DVD also reviews several of the mistakes that coaches typically make when working on this factor with their sprinters. In addition, the DVD discusses the fact that coaches who truly want to grow professionally need to be more self-reflective and to take a harder look into their program design efforts.
